25 Songs, 25 Days

Day 7 A song that reminds me of the past summner

Naming years has its merrit. It helps me remember one from the other, else wise, it all runs together. And a song that reminds me of the past summer, were it to run together with all previous summers, it would be (get ready for the groanin’ part) an Endless Summer.

Now ya’ll can get up off the floor.

If the song doesn’t speak for itself, and tell you that 2014 was the year of The Move, well, you’ve just not paying attention.

The nutshell: we moved out of that house and moved into this house. Five miles drawn out over a 13 month period.

I mean, there was just all manner of chaos during those days. But it’s done, and thank you Billy Joel for being the spokesman for that time.

Always loved Billy Joel. And Christy Brinkley. You moved? Gotta be the worst job ever.

It’s not my favorite thing to, moving. It was more that we inherited this house, and the time had come to do the deed. We started the clearing out in 2013, somewhere around August. That took forever. Then the swarm thing happened – right out of some “Joe’s Apartment” scene, only it was carpenter ants instead of roaches. Then winter came around, putting a stop to the whole thing for months, because we spent more time shoveling snow than packing and moving. Finally in April ’14, we got the first part of the move done and kept on packing, and shuttling what would fit into our car over. That’s when we first starting staying here. Finally in august ’14, the 2nd part of the move happened, and there was unpacking here, and clean up there to sell the house. What a PITA! But that’s what last summer was about… Moving out 🙂

I got tired just reading about it! Hope it was worth it all? I would have stopped, given up, half way through.

LOL I’m still tired from it. I decided until all this snow disappears, and the cold go away (the latter which started sometime back in November), I going into hibernation. Still there, and I’m not doing a lick of work until I feel rested. That might be never LOL
It was worth it. But we are only here for a couple of years and will move on out (of state) and this time the big moving company is going to do the whole packing thing.
