Welcome to the Monday Music Medicine Show – THE 42!
Back on track, with Kari Kimmel and “Black”
I often wonder when something catches my attention, musically, is it because of the show on which I first heard it? That is a distinct possibility. But I believe, at least in some situations, I could have heard it anywhere, and I still would have taken notice.
For the sake of the connection in this case, I happened across a trailer for a new season (a couple of years ago, now) that was about to air for a favorite show of mine. Trailers actually have played that role for a lot of songs I hear and fall instantly in love with.
As is usual, I have no idea, when I first hear the song, who it’s by nor what the actual title might be. It was fairly easy to figure out the name of this song. Not as easy to identify the singer. Though, I did eventually, and the song lives happily in my playlist!
Another case of this would be a song in a commercial shown before a movie I was going to watch. It was just a small part of the song, but I perked up, and just had to know what that song was, who that singer was. And I managed to track it down.
So my beautiful Monday Music Medicine Show friends, if it pleases you to play, share with us: what songs you may have heard for the first time in a trailer, in a commercial, or anywhere in advertising. You know I want to hear it! Share it there (your own blog with a ping back), or share it here.
BYOM and remember: It Don’t Mean A Thing If You Don’t Send That PING!
Music is the Medicine in my Soul and I hope yours is as healing and nurturing as mine!
