Happily, I’ve been able to get outside and take some pictures, as the yard is in full Spring makeup. Pho Trablogger gives us this opportunity every week to show off our world in its most Mundane Beauty.
This week I managed to find a veritable desert in the midst of the Greening.

Hope you get some rain soon Fim. I know by my kids, there are forests fires in the surrounding area….we experienced a lot of smoke a few days last week π

True enough, Linda! We’ve had alerts up for our area. But this picture only shows an odd, out of character spot in the yard. In fact, it’s bursting with blooms and the trees and shrubs are lush. Will take a pic of what lies beyond that little patch of desert.

Actually that’s quite a beautiful picture. It needs a poem, Fim!

I will have to think about that. I actually was thinking the next time the poetry (writing 201?) class comes around I might take it.

Yeah, some moisture would be good. That’s a good idea. Writing 201 could be fun. I bet you come up with some great poems!

We got our rain today. Everything except for that patch of ground by the forsythias is lush and green. How weird is that?
I have a wealth of poems I wrote way back when, which are not even on the computer. But I can’t remember how I managed to do that from where I’m sitting at the moment. Maybe the course will give me a reason to figure that out. π

I remember really enjoying the last time I was writing poetry, in a group, where we met once a week and shared our stuff. I hope I can find that head space again.

I lived in the desert for awhile – Tucson, Las Vegas and then the higher desert in Reno. Over time I came to see the subtle and rugged beauty of the desert – one of contrasts. The line between the horizon and sky is sharp, the color of vegetation stands out against the barren dried dirt. Your picture reminds me of that. Great photo!

The crack on the earth and the hope that brought by the green grass! Nice contrast both in the picture and concept.

Thank you, Jithin! We are actually having a week of rain, or more, even, and it’s greening up nicely. My eyes can’t get enough of looking at it!
