What a beautiful, meaningful song! I’ve never heard it before. Gotta pass it along to Brandon. I especially loved the line, “a hostage to his hopes and fears…” I’d never thought about that. Well, hopes maybe, but fears? OML! That’s what we’ve done to Bran him being an only child…

I’ve had this for decades – 30 years this year to be exact – in my playlists. I’ve always loved it, and found it to be significant to a part of my life between my father and me. We never did see eye to eye. Mike Rutherford, a founding member was originally part of a more well known group, Genesis.
I’m glad you liked it, and that it was a reminded for you of things that are close to home. It sure does for me anytime I hear it.

This song has always made me cry. It reminds me so much of someone I loved and lost years ago.

I’m so there with you, Shannon, on that. I can’t listen to it without being brought to tears. Now it’s part of the grieving process.
