Old words reborn with new faces

I’ve never been someone who remembers sayings, jokes and such much, let alone, quotes most of the time. I, sadly, don’t remember, or retain things. Though once in a while, I hear something, read something that strikes me in the way of one of those hand-to-forehead- “I shoulda had a V8” moments. Yes, I realize that makes less sense to you, the reader, than to me the writer, but we all have something to bear. We manage to get through.

So, when I got a challenge from a wonderful new friend and blogger, who thought of me to take on this challenge, ZAP! like splats of paint, wham, bam – not even gonna say thank you ma’am, so forget it – splam: three quotes popped right into my head. OMB! what are the odds? Seriously, I forget why I have walked into the kitchen, or worse, while in there making breakfast, I’m taking out stuff of which the meal is made, and have to glance back at what I’ve already set up, to remember what ingredient I walked across the kitchen for. It’s bad. Really bad. Thus quotes I’ve thought were the cat’s meow, or pajamas, or whatever your mind might conjure, reside somewhere near the other side of the planet from where I sit.

So, here’s the low down on this:

The challenge, should you choosed to accept it:

The lovely Ka Malana of Fiesta Estrellas  invited me to join a 3-Day Quote Challenge. I thank you for knocking upon my door and asking me to come out and play!

The rules of the road:

I – Post your favorite quotes or your own quotes for three (3) posts in a row.

II – Thank the person who nominated you.

III – Pass it on to three (3) other bloggers per quote, each time you post them.

IIIb – Or pass it to nine (9) bloggers if you choose to post all the quotes together, in the same post.

So I begin with today and present the first of my three quotes

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

This from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, spoken by Gandalf to Frodo.

This line made so much sense to me that it has become embedded in the very fabric of my being.  These words to live by have helped me to not waste time on something that will not further my progress through the landscape of my days.

I extend the same invitation to these wonderfully inspiring bloggers

Impromptu Promptlings  (Calensariel)

Spiral Spun  (kim)

Jabrushblog  (Jen)

Stay tune for the next quote.

Great choice! We do not get to choice what our choices are sometimes. Just what we will do with them.

I could have guess that would be your favorite. I will see your “Lord of the Rings” and raise you one “Silmarillion!”

Loved this first quote from Lord of the Rings. Gandalf is a truely inspires with this quote and it is one that sticks throughout the film and the rest of the series.

I am certain I have the same…er…what was I saying?
Seems like I’m always doing things twice.
Love this quote. And the concept beats having to go find your muses hiding place when you got nothing to say.

Great quote, sounds so easy to put into practice, but… 🙂
I am actually already in the middle of this challenge, but thank you for the invite. I look forward to seeing the rest of your quotes. x
